COURSE OVERVIEW

This fun and dynamic course is designed for kids aged 5-12 years with no prior dance experience required. Students will learn Latin dance basics, following the IDTA syllabus. The course helps improve rhythm, coordination, and confidence while preparing students for the annual IDTA exam in Hong Kong. Talented students may also participate in local or international competitions.

Every Thursday | 16:30 - 17:30

Each term is typically 8 to 9 weeks long, with one class per week. The exact number of classes may vary based on holidays or other factors.

Course Details

Number of Classes: 8 to 9 classes per term
Class Duration: 1 hour per class
Class Schedule: Thursday | 16:30 - 17:30
Tuition Fee: $280 OR 5 credits per class
Trial Fee: $220 OR 5 credits
Class Size: Minimum 3 students, Maximum 10 students
Age Group: 5-12 years
Mid-term Enrollment: Students can join mid-term and pay for the remaining classes in that term.
Latin Dance Shoes: Students must wear professional Latin dance shoes for class. If you don’t have a pair, you can order one from us for $350.

Certifications

IDTA Examination: Students will have the opportunity to sit for the annual IDTA (International Dance Teachers’ Association) examination, assessing their progress and dance proficiency.
Internal Assessments: In addition to the IDTA examination, students will undergo internal assessments to track their development throughout the course.
Certification Issuance: Upon successful completion of each term, students will receive a certification from both Flying Fairy and Step Forward Dance Academy, acknowledging their participation and achievements in the course.

Step Forward Dance Academy

Step Forward Dance Academy is a professional dance organisation specialising in Latin dance education for kids and teenagers across Hong Kong. Founded by Alice Yip and Micheal Ho, both certified Latin dance teachers and World Dance Council International adjudicators, the academy has over 20 years of experience. Their teachers are internationally-certified professionals, dedicated to providing high-quality training in Latin dance, preparing students for dance exams, competitions, and performances.

REMARKS

Important Terms:

Refund Policy: No refunds after enrollment, except for medical reasons with a doctor’s certificate.
Trial Class: Trial class fee will be deducted if a full term is enrolled.
Makeup Classes: Only two makeup classes per term is allowed. Makeup classes must be taken in the next term and arranged in advance with the instructor.
Leave of Absence:
For sick leave, parents must inform us at least 12 hours in advance. Up to 2 makeup classes will be offered in the next term, but no further makeup classes will be provided if they are missed.
For travel leave, parents must inform us one term in advance.
Payment for Absences: For travel leave, parents will only be charged for the classes the child attends, provided the appropriate notice is given.
Girls are required to tie their hair up for the class.
All students (except trial students) must wear professional Latin dance shoes during the lesson to ensure proper technique and safety.
